I have always preferred to sell the complete issue, but this is an occasion when I am offering just the original road test. I also still have literally thousands of 1945-2002 tests from my Transport Source Books and autojumbling days, but mainly unsorted so cannot help with ‘wants lists’, sorry! The starting price reflects the age of the material, and often known scarcity. In all cases a comprehensive road test consists of a thorough description of the car in question, with problems encountered, interior appointments described, its road holding, full specification, details of performances obtained often at the MIRA test track in the Midlands, dimensions, weights, braking performance, economy, top speeds in gears and acceleration figures. Note that magazine testing is independent from the manufacturer, so often it makes interesting reading. There are also usually detailed line drawings and several photographs including the interior – helpful if you are restoring a car. Note that colour printing did not really start until the 1980s. Post and handling charges for your area… Obviously the post/handling charge is cheaper than a standard magazine, and this is reflected in the price below. If you wish to order more than one original test, wait for me to combine the invoices before paying, there is no post/handling charge increase for further quantities ordered at the same time (All delivery options in a board-backed envelope marked ‘Do not bend’ and the test is within a plastic sleeve).
