SMALL PRINT… ADDRESS If your item has not been delivered within a few days the first thing to check is that your address is the same as the address registered with eBay. UK POSTAGE 95% of mail is sent first class. Occasionally 2nd class or standard parcel is used (especially on a package weighing more than 1.25 kilos. A few pence is always added for packaging materials. NO EXTRA CHARGES are added for time and transport to and from the post office and waiting in the queue 3 or 4 times a week. OVERSEAS POSTAGE I always quote for airmail. Sometimes surface mail can be the better option. Unless you’re happy with the postage registered on the tariff it may be better to request an invoice or ask for a surface mail quote which will give me a chance to look up the exact amount on the royal mail website. COMBINED POSTAGE I will always weigh your combined items and request the exact postage. There is a tariff discount structure in place that will automatically give discount on postage but sometimes it can’t reflect complete accuracy so in such cases it may be best to request an invoice, you could save a few pence. Sometimes items will be despatched in more than one packet. FREE POSTAGE On 5 or more “BUY IT NOW” items you will not be charged for postage if you are a U.K. customer. If the eBay mechanism doesn’t pick this up don’t worry, just request an invoice. Nobody has yet had to pay postage on 5 or more “BUY IT NOW” items in one transaction. If you have purchased 5 or more items on one invoice but have not paid because the invoice still shows a postal charge, just request an invoice and I will send you a revised one with no postage. If you have been sent an invoice for items bought and you wish to add to it in order to get free postage just send a note asking me to include those items in the invoice. DESPATCH TIME I visit the post office 3 to 4 times per week. This ensures that most inland buyers will get their items within 2-3 days of payment. LATE DELIVERIES Sometimes deliveries can be late. I do understand that I am responsible for getting your item to you in quick time so if I don’t get the service I am promised from royal mail I will chase them vigorously. However, royal mail will not accept a claim until at least fifteen “working days” of non delivery ( twenty days overseas mail) and sometimes a lot more in cases of bad weather or seasonal hold-ups so its probably best not to request a refund until such time has passed. I understand that some items, however, need to be delivered promptly. IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY If you are not happy I am not happy, but you must tell me so. If you open a case against me before contacting me I cannot correct the problem and we won’t have the chance to cheer up. To date 100% problems have been sorted out to my buyers’ satisfactions without the need to use this facility . eBay clearly states on the form that cases must not be opened unless the seller will not communicate. Please contact me via eBay message services (not email) and allow 48 hours for a reply. LATE PAYMENT If you need time to pay or you have been just too busy, just contact me. I will understand. If you haven’t done so after a few days I will send you a reminder. If you still haven’t paid after two weeks I will send you an email. I will only open a case after 3 weeks of non-payment because I need to re-list the item and recover my fees. CONDITION GRADING The nearest I can find to a magazine grading chart is “The Overstreet Comic Book Grading guide” and here is an abbreviated version: “MINT: Describes near perfection in the comic. This includes complete flatness, bright colours, glossy covers, sharply cut corners, no rust on staples and supple, white paper. There are some schools of thought that say that because of its perfect nature, a comic in mint condition is impossible to find. NEAR-MINT: The same schools of thought that believe Mint comic books are impossible to find hold that the highest quality of comics one can find in the market are Near-Mint. NM comics have only minor imperfections, that are very subtle and just less “eye-appealing” than Mint comic books. VERY-FINE: VF comic books have exceptional eye-appeal and allow for off-white paper and barely noticeable (less than ¼ inch) stress line on the spine. FINE: Allows for minor wear but no serious defects; it should be still flat and clean but perhaps less bright in cover colour than VF comics. VERY GOOD: Described as an “average-used comic book”, a VG comic looks like it’s been read more than a few times but still has eye appeal. Characteristic of VG comics is discoloration, brown (but not brittle) paper, one loose staple (cover must be still intact) and minor tears in the inside. GOOD: This is the lowest grade acceptable by collectors; cover gloss is low or nonexistent, paper is brown but not brittle, creased and has minor tears, can have water stains, but in all cases completely intact and readable. FAIR: Comics in this category still have a cover and all pages, is completely readable but has missing sections like the centrefold and cut sections. Low paper quality and a slight brittleness is usual. Corners are slightly rounded, and the spine is up to 2/3 damaged. POOR: Comics of this grade are so brittle that they tend to fall apart upon touch. This grade of comics have prevalent tears and stains, heavy discoloration on the cover and inside. There may be pages missing in such comics.” I always use this as a guide for describing the magazines. Please bear in mind that “good condition” is 2 grades lower than “fine condition” so if you are a serious collector “good condition” may not be satisfactory. CONDITION FOR COLLECTORS I sell magazines mainly for information purposes and vintage nostalgia hence the low prices. Having said that, a great deal of my stock is in a condition that would be of interest to collectors. If you need a more comprehensive description just give me a nudge. SUPPLEMENTS AND FREE GIFTS If the original free gift or “detached” supplement is still present with the magazine I will probably mention it in the title or the description. If not please don’t expect it to be there. FEEDBACK I do my feedback twice a week or when I get the chance. If you have paid you will receive feedback as soon as possible. I do not discriminate as to whether or not you have left it for me. DSR RATINGS As buyers we can be particular in our feedback ratings. If you feel the need to leave very low-star “DSR” ratings for any particular aspect of the transaction please contact me first to give me a chance to put things right. ITEM NOT AVAILABLE The frustration experienced by a buyer when things go wrong with a transaction is equal to the frustration experienced by a seller when errors are generated by the various malefactors he has to contend with. Programs crash. Bandwidth gets throttled. Errors occur (even human ones). Information gets lost. Because of this occasionally items can get re-listed in error (less than 0.5% in reality though) If this should happen you will receive a sincere apology and an immediate refund. ERRORS (WRONG ITEM) In the unlikely occurrence that you should receive the wrong item I will refund immediately and attempt to get the correct one to you as soon as possible. PRICING POLICY The two main factors determining the price of an item are its rarity and its weight. I.e. 5 magazines weighing over 400 grams each with free postage would cost £7.60 to post. Happily, the older an item is the fewer the advert pages so a vintage item can cost less to post! Powered by eBay Turbo Lister POSTAGE AND PACKING IS FREE on 5 items or more for U.K. customers on “Buy it now” items. Usual Shipping discounts apply for overseas customers.
